The two Asiatic species are the blue or Indian peafowl initially of the Indian subcontinent, and the green peafowl of Southeast Asia; the one African animal category is the Congo peafowl, local just to the Congo Basin. Male peafowl is known for their penetrating calls and their luxurious plumage. The last is particularly noticeable in the Asiatic species, which have an eye-spotted "tail" or "train" of incognito quills, which they show as a component of a romance custom.

The intricate glowing colouration elements and enormous "train" of peacocks have been the subject of broad logical discussion. All the more as of late, Amotz Zahavi proposed in his impediment hypothesis that these highlights went about as genuine signs of the guys' wellness since less-fit guys would be hindered by the trouble of making do with such enormous and obvious designs.
